Cruz Azul and Toluca prepare for Liga MX Matchday 10 clash

Toluca and Cruz Azul are set to face each other this Saturday, September 26, at the Estadio Azteca for Matchday 10 of the Liga MX Apertura 2026 tournament. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:40 p.m.

Toluca, managed by Antonio Mohamed, seeks to recover from a recent home defeat against Santos Laguna. The team aims to maintain a high position in the standings to secure home-field advantage for the Liguilla playoffs. In significant roster news, Toluca has confirmed a contract renewal for Brazilian winger Helinho through 2029. Helinho, the club's most expensive signing, has recorded 18 goals and 12 assists in 71 official matches.

Cruz Azul enters the match looking to regain momentum following recent losses to Inter Miami and Monterrey. The squad is relying on forward Gabriel Fernández to bolster their offensive production. Financial comparisons highlight a significant wage gap between the teams, noting that Toluca's Paulinho earns approximately 1.4 million euros annually, while Fernández earns roughly 500,000 dollars per year.
