Freiensteinau residents secure new Tante Enso supermarket

Citizens in Freiensteinau have successfully met the requirements to convert the local Tegut supermarket into a Tante Enso branch. Residents purchased 666 cooperative shares, exceeding the minimum requirement of 600.

As part of the cooperative model, every 100 shares purchased above the target threshold provides 500 euros in local community sponsorship. The official deadline for reaching the share target is September 9, 2026. The new operator aims to take over operations by October 1, pending final arrangements with Tegut.
