Deptford woman sentenced for stealing $99K from school PTOs

Tara Webb, a 37-year-old woman from Deptford, New Jersey, has been sentenced to five years of probation following the theft of $99,378.06 from two local school Parent Teacher Organizations (PTOs).

Webb, who served as treasurer for the Shady Lane and Pine Acres Early Childhood Center PTOs, pleaded guilty to third-degree theft by unlawful taking. The thefts occurred over the course of more than a year.

Gloucester County Superior Court Judge Renard L. Scott ordered Webb to pay full restitution to the organizations. Additionally, Webb is prohibited from contacting the victims and is banned from working in fundraising or fund management for any nonprofit organization during her five-year probationary term.
