Deputy Alfredo Lozoya pushes for emergency funding to repair Chihuahua’s Parral‑Guadalupe‑Calvo highway

Federal deputy Alfredo “El Caballo” Lozoya (Movimiento Ciudadano) urged Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport Jesús Antonio Esteva to allocate urgent resources for the rehabilitation of southern Chihuahua’s roads, specifically federal highway 24 that links Parral, Guadalupe and Calvo. Lozoya warned that the highway is in a severely deteriorated state, with sections reduced to earth, posing daily safety risks for hundreds of travelers who rely on it for work, commerce, medical care and family visits. He emphasized that the poor condition hinders economic activity and isolates communities already affected by forced displacement, violence and organized‑crime presence. Lozoya pledged to continue pressing the federal government to provide sufficient budget to address the critical infrastructure needs in the region.
