Deputy Chief Minister Yvette Berry faces calls to resign after staff found guilty of serious corrupt conduct

The ACT Integrity Commission has concluded that former chief of staff Joshua Ceramidas and former Education Directorate director Katy Haire engaged in serious corrupt conduct to give the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) a back‑door advantage in awarding the Campbell Primary School upgrade contract. The report said their actions "amounted to serious corrupt conduct" and led to a higher‑cost contract awarded to Lendlease instead of the cheaper Manteena bid. No adverse finding was made against Deputy Chief Minister Yvette Berry herself, but opposition leader Mark Parton and Canberra Liberals have urged her to step down, citing the ministerial code of conduct that holds ministers accountable for their staff's behavior. Kurrajong MLA Thomas Emerson echoed the call, saying Berry must take responsibility for the misconduct of her chief of staff.
