Deputy Douglas Ruas welcomed by Mayor Fábio do Pastel in São Pedro da Aldeia

Mayor Fábio do Pastel of São Pedro da Aldeia opened the city to state deputy and gubernatorial candidate Douglas Ruas during the Portões Abertos da Aviação Naval event. The ceremony, held on Sunday, drew more than 60,000 attendees and featured the mayor highlighting Ruas’s ties to the community and the potential for new partnerships if he assumes the state governorship. Ruas was accompanied by his family and local officials, and the mayor also praised the Brazilian Navy for organizing the large‑scale public outreach event.

The gathering served both as a political showcase for Ruas’s candidacy and as a community‑building occasion linking the municipality with the naval base.
