Deputy Elpidio Infante leaves David Collado presidential project

Dominican Republic Deputy Elpidio Infante has announced his withdrawal from the presidential project led by Minister of Tourism David Collado. The decision was made during an event in La Vega, shortly after Infante had been appointed as the provincial executive director for Collado’s political structure supporting the 2028 elections.

Infante cited a lack of respect during the recent activity as the primary reason for his departure. He stated, “Today I started this project with you. The only thing I have asked for is respect. As they had it until yesterday, today they did not have it with me.”

His exit marks a significant shift in the newly formed provincial leadership structure in La Vega. Local reports suggest that Infante and his political team may soon announce their support for another Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) presidential pre-candidate, Wellington Arnaud.
