Deputy Herminia Gómez Carrasco leads disability public consultations in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua
On 25 June, the Chihuahua State Congress held the third session of its 2026 public consultations for persons with disability in Cuauhtémoc. The event was chaired by Deputy Herminia Gómez Carrasco, president of the Commission on Human Rights and Vulnerable Groups.
State and municipal officials, representatives of civil‑society organizations, people with disabilities, family members and caregivers participated in working tables to discuss inclusion, education, health, accessibility and access to justice. The consultation provided easy‑read documents, Mexican Sign Language interpretation and Braille materials to ensure accessibility.
The aim is to gather opinions and proposals that will inform the review of more than 40 legislative initiatives related to disability rights. Follow‑up sessions are scheduled for Hidalgo del Parral on 3 July and Ciudad Juárez on 10 July.
