Deputy Minister Fajar Riza Ul Haq visits Gorontalo to review education programs
Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Fajar Riza Ul Haq, conducted a visit to Gorontalo to review educational initiatives, including teacher training and distance learning programs.
During his visit to Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo (UMGO), Fajar emphasized the importance of strengthening the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program. Local leaders noted that Muhammadiyah operates 58 schools in the region, facing varying levels of independence and challenges. UMGO officials reaffirmed their commitment to improving educational quality and preparing professional teachers.
Fajar also inspected the implementation of distance learning (PJJ) at SMAN 1 Gorontalo, alongside Governor Gusnar Ismail. The initiative aims to provide flexible formal education for out-of-school children (ATS), aligning with Presidential Regulation Number 3 of 2026 regarding the prevention and handling of out-of-school children. The program involves SMAN 1 Gorontalo as the main school, with SMAN 2 Limboto and SMAN 1 Gorontalo Utara serving as partner schools.
