Deputy Minister Ribka Haluk Sends Team to Probe Jayapura School Food Poisoning

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk announced that the central government will dispatch a multi‑agency team to Jayapura Regency to investigate a suspected food‑poisoning incident that affected a number of schoolchildren. The team is expected to include representatives from the National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional) and officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, along with other relevant agencies.

Haluk emphasized that the reports are still only allegations and that thorough verification is required before any conclusions are drawn. She said, "Kami akan turun ke Kabupaten Jayapura untuk mengecek secara langsung apa yang terjadi terkait dengan dugaan keracunan makanan tersebut," adding that the on‑site assessment will provide factual evidence and guide future program evaluations to prevent similar incidents.
