Deputy Paulo Soares pushes for nationwide diabetes sensor access in Brazil
Deputy Paulo Soares (SP) addressed the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, urging the public health system to provide continuous glucose monitoring sensors and other electronic devices to people with diabetes. He highlighted that while some municipalities already offer such sensors, many diabetics still lack access, limiting preventive care and quality of life.
Soares announced plans to introduce a bill that would expand rights for diabetics, mandate the creation of dedicated care centers across the country, and ensure universal, dignified, and responsible treatment. He emphasized the millions of Brazilians living with diabetes and the current shortcomings of public services, calling for comprehensive, preventive health measures.
