Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprathan Pushes to Revise 100 Thai Laws to Cut Business Costs

Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs Pakorn Nilprathan announced that the Thai government will accelerate the revision of more than 100 laws identified by the private sector as obstacles to business. The effort, coordinated through a joint public‑private committee that includes the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries and other industry bodies, will prioritize statutes that most affect tourism and manufacturing competitiveness.

The government plans to collect concrete amendment drafts from the private sector, hold immediate consultations, and submit the proposals to the Cabinet for rapid implementation. Pakorn expects the most impactful changes to be enacted within the next one to two months, with the revised legal framework to be aligned with the "7 Leading Thailand" strategy. He also warned that high energy costs remain a structural challenge that legal reforms alone cannot resolve.
