Nova Iguaçu launches municipal pet adoption campaign with 20 animals
The municipality of Nova Iguaçu held its 11th Municipal Adoption Campaign on Saturday, July 4, offering 20 rescued dogs and cats at TopShopping. All animals are vaccinated and dewormed; adopters must be over 18, present ID and sign a responsibility term. Free rabies vaccinations are also provided to visitors.
In Aracaju, the Shopping Jardins hosted the "Amigo Pet" adoption event on the same day, featuring dozens of dogs and cats rescued by the Associação Defensora dos Animais São Francisco de Assis (Adasfa). Participants must be at least 21 years old and meet identification requirements.
A partnership between federal deputy Ruy Carneiro and the Federal University of Paraíba funded animal‑protection measures on the university campus, leading the Federal Public Ministry to file away an inquiry into alleged animal abandonment.
