Éder Militão nears return to Real Madrid after injury

Real Madrid defender Éder Militão is nearing a return to competitive action following a serious tendon injury. After undergoing surgery for a proximal biceps femoris tendon rupture on April 28, 2026, the Brazilian center-back has received medical clearance to rejoin group training sessions.

Dr. Lasse Lampainen, the surgeon who performed the procedure, visited the player at Valdebebas to assess his progress. The medical staff has authorized Militão to transition from individual work to training with his teammates. While the club is not expected to rush his return to the starting lineup immediately, he is projected to potentially return to match play during October.

Militão's return is viewed as a significant boost for the Real Madrid defense, which has faced various absences and challenges. His reintegration will depend on how he adapts to the intensity of team training and regains his physical rhythm.
