Derby County falls to West Bromwich Albion in Championship defeat

Derby County suffered a 1-0 defeat against West Bromwich Albion in a Championship fixture. Aune Selland Heggebø scored the decisive goal for West Brom, who moved to the top of the league table with 13 points from six matches. Despite West Brom playing with ten men from the 34th minute following a second yellow card for Brayann Pereira, Derby was unable to secure an equalizer.

Following the match, Derby head coach John Eustace called on his players to “step up and take responsibility” to improve their results, noting the team currently sits 22nd in the table.

Eustace also praised the debut of Mohammed Fuseini, the Ghanaian forward on loan from Union Saint-Gilloise. Eustace described Fuseini’s performance as “excellent,” noting his attacking threat and direct approach, though he suggested the player needs to improve his consistency regarding finishing and crossing in the final third.
