Derecik children request safe playground via symbolic protest

Children in the Derecik district of Hakkari, located on the border with Iraq, have launched a symbolic campaign to demand the construction of a safe, modern playground. Due to a lack of adequate recreational facilities in the district, children often spend their time playing in the streets.

To draw attention to their needs, the children used their own resources to set up a small, makeshift play area in an empty lot. They placed a Turkish flag in the center of this area to make their request more visible to authorities. The children are specifically calling for a regulated park equipped with essential playground items such as slides, swings, and seesaws.

Local residents and families have expressed support for the children's initiative, emphasizing the importance of such facilities for social development and child safety.
