Dereham care home approved for 66-bed facility

LNT Care Developments has received approval to construct a 66-bed care home in Dereham. The two-storey facility will be built on vacant land near Westfield Road, previously occupied by Jewson.

The development is designed to include amenities such as a hair salon, cinema room, sky bar, private dining area, and communal lounges. The project is expected to create between 50 and 60 new employment opportunities and aims to alleviate pressure on the NHS by providing 24/7 specialist care.

Local residents have raised concerns regarding the proposed 25 parking spaces, arguing that Westfield Road already experiences significant congestion and gridlock during school hours. Developers have countered that the parking provision meets optimal standards and provides adequate facilities for the home’s needs.
