Derek Hough misidentifies Tyler Cameron during ‘DWTS’ premiere

During the Season 35 premiere of ‘Dancing With the Stars’, judge Derek Hough accidentally misidentified contestant Tyler Cameron by calling him ‘Dylan’ while delivering feedback. Hough, who was praising Cameron’s tango performance alongside professional partner Sharna Burgess, told the contestant, ‘Dylan, you have this, like, Patrick Swayze aura about you, right?’

Viewers on social media quickly noticed the error, with many suggesting Hough had confused Cameron with Dylan Efron, a contestant from the previous season. Despite the verbal slip, Hough continued to praise Cameron’s presence, frame, and posture.

Cameron and Burgess earned a score of 17 out of 30 for their routine. Other judges, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba, also provided critiques, with Inaba noting a lift violation during the performance.
