DER/FJ expands economic support in Senegal through local funding and French cooperation
The Délégation générale à l’Entrepreneuriat Rapide des Femmes et des Jeunes (DER/FJ) is expanding its economic support initiatives in Senegal through both local community engagement and international cooperation.
In Ndiassane, DER/FJ General Delegate Dr. Abdoulaye Niane met with religious authorities to deliver funding to more than 70 beneficiaries, primarily members of the ‘Domou Daara’ groups. This initiative aims to promote economic autonomy and strengthen local economic actors within the religious city. Dr. Niane indicated that these funds represent an initial step toward increased support for the region.
Simultaneously, Dr. Niane met with the French Ambassador to Senegal, Christine Fages, to discuss strengthening the Senegalese entrepreneurial ecosystem. The discussions focused on continuing existing programs co-financed by the French Development Agency (AFD), such as PAVIE 1 and 2, and exploring new collaborative projects. The partnership aims to build stronger bridges between Senegalese and French entrepreneurial networks, including participation in upcoming platforms like BIG 2026.
