Dermatological advancements target hyperpigmentation and skin radiance

New dermatological solutions have been introduced to address skin pigmentation and the risks associated with aesthetic procedures.

Laboratoires DERMEDEN has developed the Melaflash Home Set, a protocol designed to mitigate post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). This risk is particularly high for patients with skin phototypes 3 to 6, where nearly half may experience hyperpigmentation following thermal or chemical trauma from lasers or peels. The home set is intended to be used in three stages: preparing melanocytes before a procedure, maintaining treatment between sessions, and securing the skin post-procedure to block inflammatory cascades.

Separately, Laboratoires Bio-Recherche has launched the Oxyprolane anti-spot brightening serum. Formulated with natural ingredients like the Gatuline Spot-Light complex, Narcissus, and red algae, the serum aims to correct pigmentary imperfections and restore skin radiance. In a 56-day dermatological study involving 34 women, participants reported a 15% increase in skin luminosity, with 76% noting a more uniform complexion and 91% reporting brighter skin.
