Dermatological research addresses skin aging and pigmentation

Research into skin aging highlights that the process involves more than just wrinkles, encompassing dark spots, loss of luminosity, and sagging. Skin longevity depends on maintaining elasticity, hydration, and the skin's natural barrier against environmental factors like sun exposure, pollution, and stress.

La Roche-Posay has developed the Mela B3 Double Dose serum, which combines Melasyl™ and Proxylane™ to address pigmentation and loss of firmness. Dermatologist Dr. Claudia Aquino Pérez, a medical advisor for L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty, notes that skin aging typically progresses through three stages: post-acne marks starting around age 18, solar spots appearing between ages 30 and 35, and age-related spots combined with loss of firmness after age 50.

As skin ages, it naturally loses collagen and the ability to retain water, leading to thinner and drier texture. Effective care focuses on supporting the skin's natural functions and structural integrity rather than seeking immediate, artificial results.
