Dermatology expertise integrates with consumer skincare models

The skincare industry is seeing a rise in personalized, consultation-led models that bridge the gap between retail products and professional dermatological expertise.

Cetaphil is hosting a “Derm on Tour” pop-up event at London’s Battersea Power Station on 26 and 27 September. The immersive experience offers complimentary one-to-one consultations with registered dermatologists, AI-powered skin analysis, and personalized routine building to help consumers manage sensitive skin concerns.

In a similar trend toward physician-led care, Luma Dermatology has launched LUMA Skincare nationwide. Developed by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Nupur Patel, the collection addresses issues such as hyperpigmentation and reactive skin. The brand utilizes a hybrid model where certain products, such as the Luma Compound and Compound Brightening Pads, are only available following an in-person or virtual consultation, allowing the practice to extend its expertise beyond its physical location in Clearwater, Florida.
