Dermatology experts address skin health and diagnostic challenges
The Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD) reports that Irritant Contact Dermatitis, often caused by soaps, detergents, and solvents, accounts for approximately 80% of all cases of the condition. To mitigate these risks, dermatologically tested products undergo specific evaluation protocols conducted by specialists to ensure skin compatibility and safety. These tests typically include skin contact tests and primary irritation assessments to measure how the skin responds to a substance.
In the field of clinical practice, the 33rd Jornada Sul-Brasileira de Dermatologia will be held in Porto Alegre this October to address the complexities of skin disease diagnosis. Experts will discuss how recognizing patterns, patient history, and lesion evolution is critical, as many dermatological diseases present with similar symptoms such as itching, redness, and scaling. The event will also cover preventative measures, such as vaccinations required before starting immunosuppressive treatments.
