Dermatology leadership changes and medical congresses held in Italy
The Association of Dermatologists of Magna Grecia has elected Professor Steven Paul Nisticò as its new president. Nisticò, a professor at Sapienza University of Rome, was chosen unanimously during the association’s 26th national congress held in Ostuni. He succeeds Dr. Santino Dattola, who led the organization for 25 years.
The congress focused on scientific advancements and therapeutic innovations for complex skin conditions, particularly new drugs for inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. The event featured international experts from Brazil and China.
In a separate medical development, the second edition of the “PaDermo” scientific congress took place in Palermo. Directed by dermatologist Federica Lupo, the event emphasized an interdisciplinary approach, connecting clinical and pediatric dermatology with immunology, oncology, and trichology. The congress aimed to integrate dermatology with other medical branches to treat the skin as a reflection of internal bodily dynamics.
