Indonesia men's basketball team departs for 2026 Asian Games

The Indonesian men's national basketball team has departed for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Due to increased volcanic activity from Mount Anak Krakatau affecting Jakarta airports, the team adjusted its travel route, traveling by bus from Jakarta to Surabaya to catch a flight via Juanda International Airport.

Coach David Singleton is preparing a 12-player squad, which includes naturalized players Anthony Beane and Lester Prosper, alongside local talents such as Andakara Prastawa and Abraham Damar Grahita. The team faces a challenging group consisting of Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia.

Player Derrick Michael Xzavierro is set to make his Asian Games debut. The Indonesian contingent aims to secure a medal, with the team's first match scheduled against host nation Japan on September 10.
