Derry City defeats Dundalk FC 2-1

Derry City secured a 2-1 victory over Dundalk FC at the Ryan McBride Stadium. James Clarke opened the scoring for the hosts in the 12th minute following a rebound after an initial effort was blocked on the line.

Derry City extended their lead in the 71st minute when Michael Duffy scored a precise low finish following a passing move involving Darragh Markey and Darragh Burns. Duffy’s goal brought his season total to 17.

Dundalk FC responded in the 80th minute through a curling strike from substitute Shane Tracey, which reduced the deficit. Despite late pressure from the visitors, Derry City held on for the win, marking their fourth victory in their last five matches.
