Derry Féile concludes with community carnival parade

The 34th annual Derry Féile concluded with the ‘Our Place, Our People’ carnival parade, marking the end of an 11-day community-led festival in Derry. The event featured over 150 activities held across more than 40 venues, including the Bogside, Brandywell, Bishop Street, Creggan, and Fountain areas.

The final parade celebrated the history and residents of the Bogside and Brandywell neighborhoods. The procession included themes ranging from the origins of St Colmcille to the civil rights campaign, while honoring local figures such as footballer Ryan McBride and Sr Clare Crockett.

Organizers estimate that more than 20,000 people attended the festival since its start on August 5. The program encompassed a diverse range of activities, including music, film, sports, political debates, street performances, and community workshops.
