Derry hosts Europe’s largest Halloween festival

Derry, also known as Londonderry, is hosting Europe’s largest Halloween festival. Located in Northern Ireland on the banks of the Foyle, the city uses its 400-year-old historic walls as a backdrop for the celebrations.

The festivities include four major evenings, street performers, music, and light shows. A highlight of the event is the ‘Awakening the Walled City’ nocturnal route, which runs from October 28 to 30, guiding visitors through the historic center and cathedral quarter via folklore-inspired displays. The festival concludes with a parade and fireworks. Many of the most anticipated events are offered free of charge to the public.
