Derwin James Jr. faces potential injured reserve placement

Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James Jr. may be placed on injured reserve due to a recurring hamstring injury. Head coach Jim Harbaugh indicated on Wednesday that a setback in James' recovery makes an IR move likely.

James has missed the last three games. If placed on injured reserve this week, he could remain sidelined until at least November 29, potentially missing matchups against the Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, and New York Jets.

The injury comes during a difficult season for the Chargers, who are currently the last winless team in the NFL. James, who recently signed a three-year, $75.6 million extension, has recorded 21 tackles and one pass deflection in his three appearances this season.
