Desa Pengambengan recognized as a top national statistical village

Desa Pengambengan, located in the Jembrana Regency of Bali, has been named one of 12 top national winners in the 2026 Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik) program. The award, presented by the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in Jakarta, recognizes the village's excellence in collecting, processing, and utilizing accurate statistical data to support regional development planning.

Jembrana Regent I Made Kembang Hartawan and Pengambengan Village Head Kamaruzzaman received the award. The Regent noted that the achievement demonstrates how precise data at the village level can serve as a foundation for targeted development, particularly in areas such as poverty reduction and economic improvement. He expressed hope that this success would encourage other villages in Jembrana to adopt similar data literacy and digitalization practices.

As a fishing center, Desa Pengambengan faces specific developmental challenges. Village Head Kamaruzzaman emphasized that strong statistical data is a critical necessity for ensuring that government development projects are effective and meet the actual needs of the local fishing community.
