Desafío Bariloche introduces Argentina's first TetraSki adaptive chair

The Desafío Bariloche foundation has introduced the first TetraSki in Argentina, a high-tech adaptive skiing chair donated by the University of Utah. As the only unit of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, the equipment allows individuals with complex physical disabilities, such as paralysis or reduced mobility, to ski autonomously using a joystick or a suction and blow system.

Located at Cerro Catedral, the technology has already been tested by five individuals. The foundation, led by director Martin Saccomanno, operates a social program that provides free adaptive skiing lessons and equipment to local residents with motor or cognitive disabilities. The initiative aims to provide independence, allowing users to decide their own direction on the slopes rather than relying on others to guide them.
