Desafío MTB Puro Motor enters fifth edition in Costa Rica

The fifth edition of the Desafío MTB Puro Motor is scheduled for Saturday, August 22. The mountain biking competition features a 100-kilometer course stretching from Místico in Playa Hermosa to El Rodeo in Ciudad Colón, involving approximately 3,000 meters of cumulative ascent.

The race is structured into three timed segments separated by links. The first segment covers 12 kilometers between Tulín and La Gloria, followed by a 30-kilometer stretch between Santa Rosa and Cerbatana, and a final 13-kilometer section from Picagres to El Rodeo.

To date, no Costa Rican rider has won the general classification, with the previous four titles held by athletes from Spain, Colombia, and Honduras. In addition to the main individual race, the event includes partner categories and a 26-kilometer recreational route.
