Descartes Systems Group acquires Extensiv for $120 million

Descartes Systems Group has acquired Extensiv, a California-based provider of warehouse management and fulfillment technology, for $120 million. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Descartes' position in the e-commerce fulfillment market and provide enhanced solutions for third-party logistics (3PL) providers.

Extensiv offers an AI-powered platform that supports inventory management, order processing, B2B and B2C fulfillment, and invoicing. Its software integrates warehouse activities with various sales channels, e-commerce platforms, and carriers to provide better control over information and goods flows.

This move follows Descartes' recent $100 million cash acquisition of Tai, a provider of AI-powered transportation management solutions for freight brokers. These acquisitions signal a strategic focus on integrating artificial intelligence into Descartes' logistics and fulfillment technology stack.
