Descartes Systems Group acquires Tai for US$100 million

Descartes Systems Group has announced the acquisition of Tai, a California-based provider of AI-powered transportation management solutions for freight brokers, for approximately US$100 million.

Tai’s platform is designed to orchestrate the shipment lifecycle, including truckload, less-than-truckload, drayage, and cross-border operations. The software unifies quoting, carrier sourcing, load execution, billing, and customer engagement into a single workflow to help brokers automate operations.

Descartes CEO Edward J. Ryan stated that the acquisition complements the company’s existing strengths in carrier onboarding, compliance, fraud prevention, and real-time visibility. The move aims to help freight brokers manage increasingly complex transportation networks, improve operating margins, and support digital transformation.
