Desenzano del Garda to host 2027 World DOP Festival

Desenzano del Garda has been selected to host the World DOP Festival in March 2027. The event is dedicated to promoting Italian products with Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) status and will be organized by the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Grana Padano Consortium.

The festival aims to serve as an international showcase for Italy’s agroalimentary heritage. Desenzano del Garda is a strategic location for this initiative as it serves as the headquarters for the Grana Padano Consortium, an organization established in 1954 that protects one of Italy’s most significant dairy productions. The Grana Padano supply chain is noted for its substantial economic impact, with a value of approximately 2.2 billion euros in the Brescia region alone.
