Desert Plants Spotlighted in Care Guide and Ghost Funk Orchestra Track

A detailed horticultural guide describes the purple prickly pear cactus Opuntia violacea, noting its native range in Texas, Arizona and parts of Mexico and offering advice on light, watering, soil and fertilising.

Separately, Ghost Funk Orchestra’s lead Seth Applebaum recounts how a New Mexico desert sighting of the ocotillo plant inspired the band’s new song “Ocotillo,” blending funk, jazz and atmospheric vocals.

Both pieces highlight the visual and cultural appeal of desert flora across the American Southwest.
