Desert Shield and Desert Storm Memorial dedicated in Washington

A new memorial has been dedicated in Washington to honor the veterans of the Gulf War who participated in the liberation of Kuwait from the Iraqi government led by Saddam Hussein.

The dedication ceremony brings together veterans of the conflict, which began following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in August 1990. The memorial serves to recognize the soldiers who deployed to defend a sovereign nation and uphold international law during the operation.
