Design trends and collectible markets see shifts in furniture and antiques

Trends in interior design and the collector's market are shifting toward more personalized and historical elements. For 2026, kitchen design is moving away from uniform, technical sets toward a more residential look. Key features include glass display cabinets with textured or smoked glass, integrated appliances that blend into furniture, and a mix of diverse materials like wood and lacquered finishes to create a less clinical atmosphere.

In the collectibles market, vintage items such as old postcards and manual coffee grinders are gaining significant value at auctions. Recent results from the POFILA postcard auction showed that specific historical views, such as a scene from Divišov, can fetch over 2,000 CZK, while others remain at lower price points. Similarly, antique coffee grinders—particularly those made of brass, porcelain, or featuring intricate wood carvings—are being sought after by collectors rather than being discarded as household waste.
