Designers Guild enters administration after 56 years

Designers Guild, a luxury London-based homeware brand, has entered administration after 56 years of operation. Founded in 1970 by Tricia Guild and co-owned by Simon Jeffreys, the company specialized in high-end furnishing fabrics, wallcoverings, upholstery, and bed and bath collections.

The brand held a significant position in the luxury market as the exclusive licensee for the Royal Collection Fabrics and Wallpapers, granting the team access to royal archives and properties such as Windsor Castle. Despite its long history and international presence with showrooms in Paris, Munich, and Stockholm, the company faced recent business challenges that prevented a viable way forward.

Administrators Rick Harrison and Howard Smith from Interpath have been appointed to manage the company’s assets. Tricia Guild expressed deep regret over the closure, noting that the brand was built on a commitment to creative design and supported by a global clientele.
