Desiree Schiavo dies following fatal Pontebbana car accident

Desiree Schiavo, a four-year-old girl, has died following a severe car accident on the SS13 Pontebbana in the Basiliano area. Her death was confirmed by a medical commission at the Udine hospital after a six-hour observation period following the declaration of irreversible loss of vital functions.

The accident occurred on Sunday, August 23, when the vehicle, carrying the girl, her father Addis Schiavo, and her 11-year-old sister Noemi, crossed into the opposite lane and struck a plane tree. Noemi Schiavo died shortly after the impact. While Desiree was initially resuscitated and taken to intensive care, she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

Following the tragedy, the parents, Addis Schiavo and Jessica Folladore, have consented to the donation of Desiree’s organs. Authorities are continuing investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the crash. The father has been registered in the register of suspects for the charges of vehicular homicide and causing very serious injury.
