Desmond Elliot seeks forgiveness from Femi Gbajabiamila

Lagos lawmaker Desmond Elliot has publicly sought to mend political ties with Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu. The appeal follows friction during the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Surulere Constituency I, where Gbajabiamila backed Barakat Odunuga-Bakare.

In a video, Elliot was seen kneeling to ask for forgiveness, admitting he was misguided during the primary process. He expressed a desire to be reintegrated into the APC Lagos political fold and pledged his loyalty to the party leadership and the Governance Advisory Council (GAC).

In a separate statement, Elliot described Gbajabiamila as his “political father, mentor, and leader,” emphasizing that no temporary disagreement or political ambition should damage their long-standing relationship. He also denied rumors of working with political opponents against the APC or President Tinubu, reaffirming his commitment to the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
