DESOLAT announces third hardcore/noise rock album

The Austrian hardcore and noise rock trio DESOLAT has announced their third studio album, titled ‘People As Idiots & Idiots As Leaders’. The release is scheduled for October 9, 2026.

The album features nine tracks and follows a conceptual theme addressing the perceived fragility of democracy in an era of rising autocracy, populism, and religious fanaticism. The band describes the work as a reflection on current socio-political developments and the influence of radicalizing social media dynamics.

Recorded and mixed by Rainer Spänle at Cosmix Studio in Vienna, the album was mastered by Dan Swanö. The release is being handled through a collaborative DIY model involving nine different labels and three distributors across seven countries, including Reptilian Records and Blodshed666 Records.
