Destin Daniel Cretton to direct Hawaii Five-O movie
Paramount Pictures is developing a theatrical feature film based on the classic police procedural ‘Hawaii Five-O’. Director Destin Daniel Cretton, following the massive box office success of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, is attached to develop and direct the project. The screenplay is being written by Chris Bremner and Noah Oppenheim.
The film aims to be a reboot of the original 1968 series rather than a direct sequel to the 2010–2020 television reboot. While the project is in the early stages of development with no cast or release date yet announced, Cretton’s involvement has sparked discussion among fans regarding his busy schedule.
In addition to the ‘Hawaii Five-O’ project, Cretton is reportedly a favorite to return for the fifth Tom Holland-led ‘Spider-Man’ film.
