Destroy My Brains to Release Final Album “WILT” in August 2026

Canadian doom‑sludge band Destroy My Brains announced that its fifth and concluding album, titled WILT, will be released on 14 August 2026. The band, originating from Lloydminster, has crafted a five‑album conceptual arc whose initial letters spell WILT, with earlier releases Worthless (2018), InsignifiCan’t (2020), Lifeless (2020) and Tormented (2022).

Frontman and guitarist Jarret explained that the new record continues the group’s focus on self‑destruction, trauma and heavy sonic decay. He said the band “didn’t reinvent anything, we sharpened, hardened, turned it up louder,” and that the lyrics explore “furious hate, pain, drug/alcohol abuse and personal ruin.” The seven‑track album opens with “OCI,” depicting obsessive‑compulsive disorder, and proceeds through songs such as “Burn the Virgin,” “Decontribute,” “Avulsion” and “Downgrade,” each extending the band’s signature corrosive sludge sound.
