Detained for phone theft in Botoșani, convicted for wallet theft in Satu Mare

Police in Botoșani arrested a 37‑year‑old woman after she stole a mobile phone from a parked car in the central market area. The phone, valued at about 700 lei, was recovered and returned to its owner, and the suspect was held for 24 hours.

In Satu Mare, a woman was sentenced for taking 1,000 lei from a pensioner’s wallet, claiming it was payment for cleaning services. The court imposed a 4,000‑lei fine, ordered her to return the 1,000 lei and to pay 1,000 lei in court costs.
