Detective Conan celebrates 30th anniversary with new special

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan anime, a two-hour original special titled ‘The Counterfeit Case of Ultra 30’ is scheduled to broadcast on September 25, 2026, via Japan’s Friday Roadshow. The plot involves a national crisis triggered by the circulation of highly realistic counterfeit 10,000 yen notes following the issuance of new currency. The story follows Conan Edogawa and Heiji Hattori as they investigate the counterfeiting ring, which leads them from Nagano to Osaka.

Actress Eliza Ikeda will appear as a guest voice actor, portraying Toko Satomi, a document forensic technician at the National Research Institute of Police Science. The production features an extensive all-star cast to mark the milestone.

In conjunction with the franchise's anniversary, community events have also taken place, such as the Detective Conan Showcase 2026 in Jakarta, where investigator Jubun shared insights on the real-world differences between professional investigation and the fictionalized methods seen in the series.
