Detective Conan announces new two-hour anime special

The Detective Conan franchise has announced a new two-hour anime special titled ‘Detective Conan: 30-gō Satsujin Jiken’ (The Counterfeit Case of Ultra 30). This marks the first television special of this length for the series in a decade.

The plot follows Conan Edogawa and Heiji Hattori as they investigate a national threat involving sophisticated counterfeit banknotes. The investigation is expected to take the characters from the National Printing Bureau in Nagano to Osaka as they attempt to uncover the source of the forgery.

Singer Mai Kuraki, a long-time musical collaborator for the franchise, will perform the opening theme titled ‘Hallelujah’. The special is scheduled to air in Japan on September 25 at 21:00 on NTV as part of the Kinyō Roadshow programming.
