Detective Conan episode 29 breaks Japanese box‑office record, debuts in Vietnam

The 29th film of the Detective Conan franchise, titled “The Famous Detective: Angelic Crash on the Highway,” centres on high‑speed motorcycle racing at Kanagawa’s Moto Festival and a series of linked traffic‑accident cases involving a character nicknamed “Wind Goddess.” The plot follows Conan, Masumi Sera and traffic police officer Hagiwara Chihaya as they pursue the mysterious antagonist “Lucifer,” who drives a high‑tech super‑car.

A 90‑second trailer released ahead of the film shows intense chase scenes and roaring engines. In its opening three days in Japan, the movie earned about ¥3.5 billion (≈₫870 billion), the highest opening revenue in the franchise’s history. The film is scheduled to reach Vietnamese audiences on 24 July, where it is expected to attract large crowds.
