Detran-MS implements Sedex delivery for driver's licenses
The State Transit Department of Mato Grosso do Sul (Detran-MS) has begun delivering printed National Driver's Licenses (CNH) via Sedex express mail. The initiative aims to accelerate document delivery and provide greater convenience by allowing drivers to receive their licenses directly at home.
Detran-MS issues between 10,000 and 15,000 printed licenses monthly. Currently, approximately 800 documents are returned to the department each month due to delivery issues such as incorrect addresses or the absence of a recipient.
In Campo Grande, licenses returned by the postal service will be held at the central post office on Rua Calógeras for 30 days. If not collected, the document will be resent via registered mail, which allows delivery to a secure mailbox without a signature. If this attempt fails due to incomplete addresses or relocation, the license will return to Detran-MS for data updates.
In the state's interior, undelivered licenses will be sent to local Detran-MS agencies for pickup. Additionally, the department is managing over 11,000 held licenses, which will undergo validity and restriction checks before being resent under a schedule yet to be announced.
