Brazil news: Helicopter safety requests and vehicle auction updates

Various incidents and regulatory updates have been reported across Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro, the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) has requested that commercial helicopter sightseeing flights be redirected over the sea, specifically between Barra da Tijuca and Arpoador, to minimize risks to populated areas following a fatal crash. The MPF also called for increased oversight from Anac and Decea.

In Mato Grosso do Sul, Detran-MS has issued notices regarding vehicle auctions. Former owners of auctioned vehicles may be eligible to claim remaining balances after debts are settled, provided they follow specific application procedures. Additionally, owners of approximately 200 vehicles held in impound lots have until August 21 to regularize their status to avoid auctioning.

Other regional reports include traffic accidents in Rio involving motorcycles, a motorcycle seizure in Porto Alegre involving significant unpaid fines, and a driver in Pará who lost control during a stunt, resulting in a fall down a ravine.
